Lemonade Stand

In the magical forest, four friends—Kiwi, Taro, Jackfruit, and Tang—huddled together. The topic? How to buy new, shiny toys. They finally settled on starting a lemonade stand and quickly divided the tasks: Tang and Jackfruit would make lemonade; Taro would keep the books, and Kiwi would handle sales.

The stand was set up, and their first customer arrived. It was then that Tang confessed, “Oops, I forgot the lemons. I was lost in imagining recipes!”

Taro whispered, “Lemons are on the other side of the forest. What now?” On the spot, they offered the customer beet juice instead. To their surprise, he loved it! And so, the lemonade stand became famous for everything but lemonade.

“Let’s diversify,” Tang suggested. Soon, pies, banana bread, and even second-hand video games adorned the stand. Business boomed, and their toy fund swelled.

Then, an old mole came along, fragile and nearly blind. He ordered a beet juice, paid with crumpled bills, and shuffled away. The friends couldn’t shake the image of the old mole and his taped-up glasses.

The next day, the mole returned. “Your beet juice, sir, and a little gift,” Kiwi handed over a box.

Inside were brand-new glasses. “Are these for me?” the mole’s voice trembled.

“Yes, we pooled our earnings to buy them for you,” Taro explained.

The mole was overwhelmed, thanking them profusely as he left. The friends had spent their toy money on the glasses, but they had also gained something invaluable.

“Our new toys can wait,” Kiwi summed up, “We’ve learned what it truly means to make a difference.”
