Kiwi and Taro stumbled upon their friend Jackfroot on a sunny afternoon in the magical forest. His fur was coated with dirt, but his eyes sparkled with enthusiasm.
“Hey friends, you’re just in time! How would you like to help me expand my burrow for a new gym?” Jackfroot exclaimed.
The proposal was irresistible. Kiwi and Taro eagerly agreed, and as they were heading toward Jackfroot’s burrow, Tang showed up.
“Did I hear digging? Count me in,” Tang hollered.
The friends had barely started when Tang pitched his idea. “What about adding space for a pool?”
Jackfroot was thrilled. “Imagine swimming laps post-workout!”
With a collective nod, they dug deeper. A spacious cavity emerged—large enough for a pool. Just as they were admiring their handiwork, disaster struck: the main tunnel caved in.
“We’re trapped!” Taro yelped, curling up.
“Stay calm,” Kiwi advised. “We’ll find another way out.”
Tang, usually the wildcard, was strangely quiet. “We’ll explore the tunnels one by one.”
So they split up, each leaving breadcrumbs to mark their path. Despite their best efforts, all routes led to dead-ends. Even the overhead chatter of moles was out of reach for help.
Exhausted and defeated, they reconvened in the pool chamber. Jackfroot, however, wouldn’t stop digging—more tunnels, more dead-ends. But then, Taro spoke up.
“In a labyrinth, if you always make the same turn, you’ll find your way out.”
Sarcasm tinged Tang’s reply. “What’s the harm in trying now?”
Jackfroot, still energized, led the way. Following Taro’s advice, they always turned left.
After what seemed like hours, a glimmer of daylight appeared ahead. They burst out of the tunnel, dirty but exhilarated.
Though it had been a taxing day, the friends learned a priceless lesson: even in peril, teamwork and persistence could guide them out of the darkest mazes.
